Pixie

Pixie is a hypoallergenic Irish Poodle and English Cocker Spaniel mix. She has been trained to socialize in public, community and residential settings. She is very attuned to mood and will apply pressure therapy (puts her paws on you and cocks her head to the side) when she senses stress or tension. She loves to cuddle and play and works with children, teens and adults.

Mission

Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) is a therapeutic approach that incorporates animals into the treatment process to enhance emotional and psychological well-being. This innovative therapy has been to reduce stress, alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improve overall quality of life for individuals of all ages.

 

By fostering a bond between humans and animals, AAT promotes feelings of comfort, security, and connection, facilitating and personal growth. The presence of a trained therapy animal can also encourage communication and social interaction, it a valuable tool in various therapeutic settings.

Vision

Pixie is available to work with clients of all ages starting July 2026 at the Jacksonville Beach location or in conjunction with walk and talk therapy.

The right dog can provide a great supplement to talk therapy for children, teens and adults dealing with anything from ADHD or anxiety to trauma and depression.

Meet the new Therapy Dog

Animal Assisted Therapy Animals undergo temperament assessment and behavioral training, and are utilized by a trained and licensed psychotherapist.

Pixie was trained in Ireland/UK and holds an EU Pet Passport.
